Getting Started

I am starting this blog for the simple reason that I am "ate up" by the PBR. I can't get enough of it, and so I figured I would "talk" more about it right here.

I have been a fan of the PBR since Adriano's hayday, but I really started to follow it on a weekly basis and becomce obsessed during the spring of 2009. I got wrapped up in last year's race and the rest is history. I attended the San Antonio event in the fall, flew to Vegas for the World Finals in November, and am headed to Arlington next week for the greatest one day event in the history of bull riding.

I have been around bull riding my whole life. My uncle was a bull rider, and my dad took me to rodeos more often than he came to my little league games. If I wasn't 6'4" and 200 lbs, I would like to think that I might have given it a shot, but it wasn't for me.

Instead, I spent most of my life playing baseball. I was a catcher, which may be the closest thing to bull riding that there is in baseball. I played all the way until my sophomore year of college. I have also been a huge fan of sports my whole life. I was one of those kids who could tell you statistics of any player on any team in any sport. I am still obsessed with Texas Aggie football, a huge fan of College Football in general, and a pretty big fan of the NFL, MLB, and the San Antonio Spurs. I have a degree in Sport Management from Texas A&M University, and I worked in the professional sports field for two years after college. I had the pleasure of meeting just about every great athlete that you could think of; Bart Starr, Earl Campbell, Barry Sanders, Pete Rose, Nolan Ryan, etc., etc. At the end of the day, hanging out with those guys didn't pay the bills.

The only reason I share all of this is to let everyone know that I do know sports, both the competitive side, and the business side. I have played against and studied some of the best athletes in the world, so I bring some of that with me as I start to comment on the Proffessional Bull Riders.

I am looking forward to this and hope that some of you will comment on what you read here.
